EDI Processing

Electronic purchase orders, advanced ship notices, charge backs, UCC-128 labels. If these terms are unknown to you, they may not be for very long. EDI is the future of data processing and it will not go away. More and more companies are being pressured or even required by customers and vendors alike to start using EDI as a preferred method of ordering, tracking and shipping merchandise between businesses. If you want to do business with any of the larger retailers you will have to bar code and EDI.

While EDI is a good way to automate and reduce paperwork, the complexity and high cost of establishing an effective EDI system leaves many companies out in the cold. They are forced to outsource the process to third party firms charging monthly fees, mapping fees, transmissions fees and more. This outsourcing is not only expensive, its also leaves you with very little control over your EDI processing. CSS has extensive experience in all aspects of EDI processing and has designed several custom versions of our software to handle all the EDI transaction sets most companies are required to exchange.

Electronic Purchase Orders
This system is capable of receiving electronic purchase orders from vendors and sending acknowledgements back. After receiving the P/O the system will create sales orders and print picking tickets for review, all from one menu option. The system can handle blanket P/O’s, multiple shipments off one P/O, bulk warehouse shipments, mark for store shipments and even drop shipments to customers. After reviewing the edit, another menu option will post the new orders to the order entry and release the picking tickets for printing.

UPC Label
UPC labels
Most EDI parteners now required you to label your product with retail price stickers and/or UPC bar code labels. This system is capable of printing UPC bar codes, retail stickers and other labels required to meet EDI partner's requirements.

Electronic Invoices
This system is capable of sending out electronic invoices to vendors and customers who are setup as EDI partners. Invoices will be automatically sent from a menu option after regular order entry postings. The system handles both invoices and credits.

Advanced Ship Notices
CSS has several different methods of capturing the data needed for ASN and UCC-128 label creation. Depending our your specific needs we will offer several solutions that include batch or interactive data collection. Either method will allow printing of the UCC-labels and sending the ASN information to the customer or vendor.

Whether you need a full blown EDI system or just want to convert incoming electronic purchase orders into order entry, CSS can guide you through the confusing world of EDI.
